In 2023 the residents of Green Charter Township, MI, were notified that their town would be the location for a new battery plant site. But some residents took issue with the fact that the plant would be owned and operated by Gotion, a Chinese company with ties to the CCP. What followed was an emotionally charged few months in which a small town stood divided against its leaders.
